Glacia the White Bear

The Ice Queen: Glacia, the Polar Bear of Wrangel Island, Russia
Glacia, a magnificent 15-year-old polar bear, roams the vast, icy expanse of Wrangel Island in Russia. This remote Arctic sanctuary, known for its pristine beauty and rich wildlife, provides the perfect habitat for Glacia. As she navigates the snow-covered terrain and sea ice, Glacia plays a vital role in the Arctic ecosystem, hunting seals and helping maintain the balance of the food chain.
Standing nearly 3 meters tall on her hind legs and weighing over 400 kilograms, Glacia is a powerful yet graceful presence in her frozen world. Despite the harsh conditions, she is perfectly adapted to the cold, using her thick fur and sharp claws to survive in one of the planet’s most extreme environments. Glacia is also an exceptional swimmer, capable of covering great distances through the icy waters in search of food.
The Arctic tundra and surrounding waters are home to an incredible variety of life, from seals and walruses to migratory birds. However, climate change and shrinking sea ice are posing significant challenges to Glacia and other polar bears, making the preservation of these fragile ecosystems more urgent than ever.
